Rotary International
As
you may know, several Georgia USA Rotary clubs teamed together last year with
the Mbabane Mbuluzi, Swaziland Rotary Club to apply for and receive an
International Matching Grant from Rotary International. This grant funded the
purchase of a new John Deere tractor that is now harvesting crops at Project
Canaan.
Encouraged
both by the response from Rotary International and the enthusiasm generated
within the involved clubs, Rotary members are now pursuing a grant that would
fund the construction of a major dam on Project Canaan. Please click here for the
downloadable.pdf for more information on the dam. In addition to the Georgia
Rotary Clubs and the Swaziland Club involvement, we are communicating with Taiwan
Rotarians who may join us.
If
you are a Rotarian who likewise shares the enthusiasm for this project and
would like to be a part of what would be a major Rotary contribution to Heart
for Africa and Project Canaan, please contact John Bach, past president, or Ben Hunter, president elect of the Rotary Club of
North Fulton (Georgia USA). John can be emailed at jbach@bdhlawfirm.com and Ben can be emailed at Benjamin.Hunter@SunTrust.com. Or, contact Strib Stribling in our
Heart for Africa office at 678-566-1589 or strib@heartforafrica.org
