Why Swaziland?

Swaziland is located in southern Africa bordered by South Africa and Mozambique.  The country has a population of 950,000 with an average life expectancy of 29 years.  For comparison, the United States has a population of 320 million people with an average life expectancy of 78 years.  Swaziland has a negative growth rate of 4.5%.

The country is led by His Majesty King Mswati III and is the last absolute monarchy in Africa.  Residents of Swaziland speak siSwati and many people also speak English, which is the teaching language in school.

It is estimated that there are more than 200,000 orphans living in Swaziland with more than half of the total population being orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
