Merciful Redeemer in Kenya is Heart for Africa's newest partner working alongside GOA. We will make our first visit to this home in July of 2008.

Merciful Redeemer, home to 65 children, is currently located on the edge of the Mitumba slum in Nairobi.

The area around the home is dangerous and does not provide a quality environment for the children. We are currently raising funds to build a new home on land located 45 km from the current location in a more rural safe setting. Our hope and prayer is that we are able to meet the funding goals, build the new home, and relocate the children during our first visit in July.

The vision for the home is to have 100 orphans and vulnerable children call Merciful Redeemer "home", but at this point there is no more room for new and needy children to come in.  Furthermore, the home does not have the funding necessary to properly care for the children who currently live there. Our mandate is to help each home we come alongside to become self-sustainable and there are no self-sustainable solutions in the slum.
