When you enroll in our sponsorship program, your donation is used to support all the children at the home not just one child. Think about it, would you want James to feel he is less loved because he doesn't have a sponsor and Rebecca does? We want both children to feel equally loved by our sponsors that is why our program sponsors the home.
Q: What is the cost of monthly sponsorship?
Minimum sponsorship is $30 a month but you can donate more based on your budget and financial ability for support, but $120 is what is estimated to care for a child a month.
Sponsorship contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law and one annual tax statement will be issued for all your annual contributions early in the New Year in time for tax preparation purposes.
Donations accepted online by credit card, or by mail in check or money order. You can also request a form to have the funds automatically deducted from a bank account.
Q: What does sponsorship help provide for a child?
Sponsorship helps to provide a loving home environment with caring staff who provide a high standard of care, private or public school education depending upon the home, health care and supplemental nutrition, nourishing meals each day, clothing and essential necessities, and opportunity to learn important life skills. Most importantly, the children at the home will hear about Jesus and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with the Lord.
Q: What is the process for selecting which home a sponsor will support?
Once you decide to enroll in our sponsorship program, you can sign up
online for your monthly commitment. Simply select a Country and then a
Home from the selection list. This will list all the children at the
home with a profile.
Why have a list of children when you're selecting to sponsor a home? We
all want to be able to connect to a child and know that our donation is
giving a child a chance at a better life. By providing you the
information of the children at the home it will also help make your
decision for supporting which home easier.
Q: What will the sponsor receive in return?
We hope to provide you with ongoing communication from your sponsored home and updates on the children. Please understand that communication back and forth from Africa can be challenging.
Q: How do I write my sponsored home?
The children at the home you sponsor will love receiving letters from you. Remember these children have no parents so they will often consider you as their family. He or she will enjoy hearing about your family, your favorite activities, and about where you live. The letters should be mailed to the address listed below. Remember to include the name of the home on the outside of the envelope. All letters are read first by Heart for Africa US staff then carried to the home on an upcoming Heart for Africa trip. You may include appropriate photos with your letter. Please do not include gifts with your letters. Gifts will not be sent to the home and will not be returned to you.

Q: Will children from the sponsored home write to me?
Once or twice a year, the children from the home will write letters addressed "Dear Sponsor". Please remember we want the children to know they are loved by all the sponsors which is why the letters won't be specifically addressed in your name. You will receive these letters or cards at various times throughout the year.
Q: How long will my sponsorship last?
The goal of the Heart for Africa Home Sponsorship Program is to equip and supply daily provision for a home. The sponsorship may last for many years as the children continue through schooling into adulthood. So you might enjoy years of relationship with your sponsored home.
