Heart for Africa trips focus in four specific areas, Hunger, Orphans, Poverty, and Education. Serving on a service trip with Heart for Africa will make an eternal impact in the lives of the participants and the beneficiaries alike. Your team will work side by side with children’s homes and churches to provide support for the orphaned children living in the home or in the area around the church. Heart for Africa works in two countries, Swaziland and Kenya.

Litsemba means HOPE in SiSwati and the summer of 2010 is all about Litsemba. On July 23, Heart for Africa will Celebrate Litsemba with 15,000 orphaned and vulnerable children from Swaziland at the Somholo National Stadium. There are three trips scheduled around the event.

1. The Litsemba Team - The first group leaves the US on July 15 and returns to the US on July 25. We have reserved 170 seats with the airlines for this trip. Once those are full, additional volunteers will leave the us on July 16 and return to the US on July 26. Read more about this trip and register here.
2. Litsemba Medical Mission Team - Are you a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist? This is the service trip you may want to join. The Litsemba Medical Mission trip will depart the US on July 21 and return to the US on July 31. Read more here and register here.
3. Litsemba Follow-up Team - After the event on July 23, it is crucial that we continue to follow up with the children and the churches in the communities. This begins with our first Follow-up team. This group will leave the US on July 26 and return to the US on August 5.

In Kenya, Heart for Africa will spend time at our partner homes throughout the summer. We currently partner with three children's homes in Kenya, Tumaini Children's Home, Strong Tower Children's Home, and Merciful Redeemer Children's Home. Please note that each trip fills on a first come, first served basis. Your initial deposit secures your initial reservation for a specific trip, but the reservation must be maintained by meeting the funding deadlines we will provide to you in communications following your registration. Please note that all donations towards your trip's cost are non-refundable, tax-deductible donations to Heart for Africa to the full extent allowed by law.
