Tumaini Tuition Program
Two young ladies living at Tumaini Children's Home in Kenya have a wonderful opportunity to attend university. In a country where women are underrepresented at the University level, we are very excited that these two women have this chance to further their education.
Like in America though, University is expensive in Kenya. The average cost per semester for these two young ladies is approximately $3,000 each. This is where we need your help. Will you join us in encouraging Monicah and Lilian to continue to strive for the goals they have set in their lives by contributing to their tuition fund? Below is a brief bio on each young lady along with their desires for their eduction. To help sponsor their educational needs, simply click the link below their names.
Monica Wairimu
Monica is twenty years old and has been living at Tumaini for several years. She came to Tumaini from the slum of Kiambu where she had a history of sexual abuse. At a young age, she was forced to drop out of school so that she could work and provide for her family.
Since living at Tumaini, Monica has done well in school and has shown strong leadership qualities at the home. Her desire is to become a journalist so that she can act as a voice of the orphans and vulnerable children of Kenya. She is hoping to pursue a degree in Mass Communications. The cost for Monica's program is $2,750 per semester for an eleven semester program.
Lillian Wambui
Lillian is 19 years old and has lived at Tumaini for six years. When Lillian was only four years old, her father was killed in a robbery at their home. After his death, Lillian and her family were chased from their home and left to roam the streets.
Lillian aspires to be a mechanical engineer. Her education would lead to a stable and rewarding career that would allow her to give back to the needy in her community. The cost of Lillian's program is $3,190 per semester for a ten semester program.
